Garden Room Design: A 5m x 6m angled garden room was designed and built, featuring:

  • Composite cladding for a modern and low-maintenance exterior.
  • A toilet with a standard close-to-wall design and soft-closing seat, connected to the main drain.
  • A 450mm vanity sink.
  • An 800mm roof overhang, providing shade and weather protection.
  • A large composite deck to the front, extending the living space outdoors.


Design Rationale:  The angled design likely maximised space and natural light. The composite materials were chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal. The roof overhang and decking create a versatile outdoor area. The inclusion of a toilet and sink makes the garden room self-contained and comfortable for guests.


Construction Process:  The garden room was constructed in just two weeks, demonstrating efficient project management.


Technical Details:

  • Structural drawings were provided.
  • A building warrant was obtained from East Dunbartonshire Council.
  • A full electrical package was installed, including:
  • A heated towel rail for comfort.
  • A 2kW smart heater for efficient heating.
  • Dimmable spotlights for adjustable lighting.
  • Cat 6 Ethernet and a mini WiFi router for reliable internet connectivity.
  • Wired armoured cable to the property for a secure connection.
